Conference at Coventry

We were invited to run the kid’s and youth work for the alumni of the City of Benin University Fellowship, Nigeria. They meet every year and have done for the last 30 years, during which they have grown, so that meetings take place in different places of the world as well as Nigeria and Coventry. We had 16 children and young people. We expanded our Joseph programme, mixing it with games, music and craft activities. We made Joseph’s coat from plastic bags and newspaper using proper pattern pieces. We talked about the challenges Joseph had to face. We played the “Bird Food Game”: sorting grains, weighing, labeling and bagging them, just like they must have done in Joseph’s time. We sang together, everybody joining in with rhythm instruments. It was a joyful weekend full of delights, African food and building new relationships.
