Mentoring

With the lifting of the lockdown rules in March we were able to return to South Hunsley School after the Easter Holidays to begin mentoring sessions again. We have been seeing 16 students over this period with covid remaining a constant challenge, as students had to self-isolate individually or as full cohorts. The mentoring has been very good as the young people are coming to us sent from the pastoral department. The young people are open to share about their struggles and the conversations have been frank and positive.

We have enjoyed returning to more face-to-face work and are looking forward to support South Hunsley School as they run a summer school for the new year 7 students who feel anxious about the change because of the crazy school year it has been. We will come alongside teachers and other staff members to be available to help the more vulnerable students be at ease and relax as they get used to the idea of going to a new school where they are going to mix with hundreds of children.
